I want to consume less and create more...

It made my day when I got an email from photographer Clay Enos that said simply: I dig your mantra.

I'm Travis Jon Allison. I'm a photographer from Southern Ontario, Canada and making art has always been my passion. Getting to be a photographer was one of my goals since I first borrowed my mom's Pentax Spotmatic camera and took it with me to camp for the weekend.

I thank you and my clients who have allowed me to share that passion and keep creating. It makes me very happy.

This blog is all part of my creating bug. I use it to keep a record of what's going on with me so that my clients can get to know me better and so my friends and family can keep up with what is going on in our world. One part photo album, one part journal and all me. Thanks for reading!

I hope you enjoy the blog. Please add me into your  feed reader.

Life’s Star Portraits at TIFF

This just shows how easy it can look with a simple set up and people comfortable in front of a camera.  Great shots from this year’s TIFF.

Cambridge Engagement : Jennie + Keenan

On a super hot night in July I became a Cambridge wedding photographer for Jennie & Keenan. We had a hilarious night shooting at the park and by a great old factory in their neighbourhood.

Mona Lisa Curse

I’ve been a bad blogger… thankfully, it is because I have been so busy. I’ve got at least a half a dozen blog posts in a folder on my desk called “BlogThis”.

It has been a great August, after a slow June and July (I had back surgery) with some amazing couples and a few photo shoots at camps. As I worked on sorting pictures this morning for a magazine shoot I watched/listened to this awesome documentary on YouTube: Mona Lisa Curse (watch the first section below).

I have loved art for my whole life. This movie was awesome.

London Wedding : Colleen + Dave

Our good friend (and former summer camp nurse), Colleen, got married at the Idlewyld Inn on the first of May. It was really nice to get to meet Dave after hearing about him for so long!

It was a great spring day (not too hot) and everything was VERY green – a great backdrop for wedding photos.

What do you think? Let me know your favourite picture in the comments.

I must say, I really enjoyed the Idlewyld and the back courtyard was a great place for a small wedding. Thanks for having us over, Christine!
