Yesterday was Barry & Carol’s (my in-laws) 45th Wedding Anniversary. We went out to a great brunch at the Elm Hurst and that was the first chance we had to present them with the DVD of this video. They were kind enough to take their whole family to Toronto for the weekend in June and I chose to video the weekend instead of shooting stills.
We had a great Toronto tourist weekend. We planned the weekend so that my niece and nephew, who are 7 and 9, would have fun in the city. We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory, rode the subway, went to Ontario Place and even Medieval Times.
Thanks to Barry and Carol for a great weekend. Congratulations on your anniversary.

CAIRN Camp Staff: Training 2008

I produced a video (through our Walking Maverick Productions arm) for CAIRN, Baysville last week.  CAIRN is the camp organization that I used to run with my wife, Beth.  She has carried on as the Executive Director there while kindly moving to Woodstock with me.

While at camp I shot 65 individual portraits of the staff.  Using those and the pictures that others had taken of the week I put together this video for their website so that the campers and parents can have a chance to get to know the people that are looking after them.

Here is a little “behind the pretty pictures” video of how some of the creative portraits were shot:

Travis was the photographer at our wedding just over two years ago and we continually hear compliments about the photos hanging in our house. Very original poses, lots of amazing candid shots…he just has a knack for being at the right place at the right time to catch that special moment, and the knowledge of photographic techniques to capture it with great style and originality.

This past October, we had Travis take some outdoor family portraits of my wife, my 10 month old son and me. They are AWESOME. There are so many great shots to chose from.
